Privacy
The short version: you can use every course without an account. If you create one, we store your email address and your progress (plus your name and picture if you sign in with Google), nothing more, and you can delete it at any time.

Who is responsible
This site is run by the operator of Free Language Courses.
Without an account
Your progress (finished chapters), your review deck and your settings (such as playback speed and light or dark mode) are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
To see whether the chapters work, the site counts a few anonymous events: a chapter was opened, its dialogue was played, a step was reached, a chapter was finished. Each count records only the chapter, the page, the site the visit came from and the country; no cookie, no identifier and no IP address, so the counts can't be linked to you or to each other.
With an account
We store:
- your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google;
- which chapters you have finished, and when;
- your review deck: which words you are learning and when each is due again.
We use this only to run your account and keep your progress in sync across devices. We don't send newsletters, and we don't sell or share your data. The legal basis is the performance of the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Deleting your account: on your account page, choose “Delete my account”. Your account, progress and review deck are deleted immediately and permanently.

Advertising
Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense, which pays for running the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads and measure them. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time with “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page. Without consent, Google only shows non-personalised ads.
You can read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are useful and where visitors come from. It sets no cookies, doesn't use local storage, doesn't fingerprint your browser and doesn't build a profile of you; we only see totals (pages viewed, referring sites, countries, browser types and page load times). Cloudflare's own privacy notice is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the database. Like any web server, it processes your IP address to deliver the pages, and it counts visits (see above).
- Google handles “Continue with Google” if you choose it, and serves the ads.
- Resend sends the sign-in link if you sign in with your email address.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can complain to your data protection authority.You can delete your account yourself on your account page.
